Resolute Investment Managers, Inc.

Who We Are

Our Heritage

Resolute Investment Managers traces its history to November 1986 when an affiliate, American Beacon Advisors, Inc. (formerly AMR Investment Services, Inc.), began providing investment management services as an independently operated entity owned by the parent company of American Airlines. Today, we are majority owned by funds affiliated with Kelso & Co. and we are affiliated with four leading investment management firms with clients around the globe.

More Than 30 Years of Success

2018

In May 2018, we launched Continuous Capital, LLC. The affiliate focuses on an emerging market equity strategy in a separate account format. Morley Campbell, the firm’s president and chief investment officer, has more than 15 years of experience in managing client assets.

2017

In April 2017, we acquired a controlling interest in Shapiro Capital Management LLC. Founded in 1990 by Samuel Shapiro and Michael McCarthy, the professional investment advisory firm is based in Atlanta. Shapiro manages institutional-quality, value-oriented investment strategies and employs a team-oriented investment process that is driven by deep fundamental research and concentrated portfolios.

2016

In October 2016, we completed our acquisition of Crest Investment Partners, LLC, which was renamed Alpha Quant Advisors, LLC to better reflect its standing as a provider of quantitative, fundamentally driven investment solutions for institutional and individual clients.

In July 2016, we completed an investment of a minority interest in ARK Investment Management LLC, a New York-based, federally registered investment adviser that offers registered and unregistered investment products, including a suite of exchange-traded funds focused on disruptive innovation.

2015

In April 2015, Resolute Investment Managers was acquired by investment funds affiliated with Kelso & Company and Estancia Capital Management, two prominent private equity firms. Through this agreement, the next phase of our growth story began.

2008

In September 2008, AMR Corporation sold American Beacon Advisors to Lighthouse Holdings, Inc., which was indirectly owned by investment funds affiliated with Pharos Capital Group, LLC and TPG Capital, L.P. At that time, the ownership structure made American Beacon one of the largest minority-controlled investment management firms in the country.

2005

In 2005, AMR Investment Services, Inc. changed its name to American Beacon Advisors, Inc. Under the new name, the firm’s mutual fund products, previously marketed as American AAdvantage Funds, became the American Beacon Funds. The Funds were created as a series of competitively priced, open-end mutual funds designed to support a wide spectrum of investment objectives. The Fund family now includes a variety of longer-range investments from international and domestic equity, balanced portfolios, alternative portfolios, as well as short-term investment options, including bond and money-market funds.

The U.S. enjoyed an economic boom during the 1990s thanks, in part, to globalization and technology, a government surplus and infrastructure investment, and the creation of more than 23.6 million jobs. As an organization, we grew our assets under management from $7.2 billion in 1990 to $21.7 billion in 1999.

1986

Resolute Investment Managers traces its history to November 1986 when AMR Investment Services, Inc. (now known as American Beacon Advisors, Inc.) began providing investment management services as an independently operated entity owned by the parent company of American Airlines.

Earlier

Prior to November 1986, our investment officers successfully managed the operating funds of the AMR Corporation Treasury Department. Their investment success led to the formal creation of American Beacon Advisors, Inc. to provide business management, advisory, administrative and asset management consulting services to individual and institutional investors.
